MMPartners, LLC (MMP) is a vertically integrated real estate development, construction and management company, formed to revitalize and effectuate positive change within Philadelphia’s historic Brewerytown neighborhood.
Since 2001, MMP has been building in Brewerytown, with an emphasis on good design, sustainability, and giving back to the community. MMP specializes in everything from the renovation of single family homes to the new construction of large, mixed-use developments. While the projects are varied, MMP’s philosophy stays the same for all projects: high quality, modern design, and value for our renters and buyers.
David Waxman has nearly 15 years of entrepreneurial experience in the real estate development and finance fields. Mr. Waxman’s duties focus on macro strategy for the firm, directing acquisitions, and financing. Prior to MMP, he was a partner with Switzenbaum & Associates in a number of large development projects and worked as an associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Real Estate Advisory Practice.
Mr. Waxman holds a B.A. in Urban Studies and Public Policy from Boston University, where he was a University Merit Scholar. He has also completed graduate level coursework in Real Estate Finance and Investment at New York University.
Aaron Smith, a partner and founding member at MMPartners LLC, has specialized in Philadelphia real estate since 2005. He began his career in Center City Philadelphia with Switzenbaum & Associates, a real estate development and management company specializing in garden style apartment projects and hospitality development.
As a partner at MMP, Mr. Smith specializes in both commercial leasing and residential sales, and manages the oversight of residential and commercial construction.
Mr. Smith grew up in Center City Philadelphia and received his B.A. in Political Science from Muhlenberg College.
MMP focuses solely on the development of high quality, design-driven projects in the Brewerytown neighborhood, with several large and small projects currently under construction and in various stages of predevelopment.
MMP strongly believes in giving back to the community where we develop and reside. This entails sponsoring public art, hosting and sponsoring community events (concerts, food truck round up, Brewerytown Spring Festival), funding youth programs, mentoring kids in the area, funding a cleaning crew to clean W. Girard Avenue everyday and working closely with community non-profits. We encourge our tenants, business owners, and residents to participate as well.
Percent of Rent For Charity
We have recently formalized our charitable giving under a new initiative we are calling “Percent of Rent For Charity.” As part of our commitment to giving back, beginning May 1 2015, each month we will present our tenants with two to three proposed charitable causes to decide which we should support in a given month. After the tenants have voted, we will donate a “Percent of Rent” to the cause of choice. We believe our tenants should have a say in where their money goes.
