Located at 1626-1644 Fairmount Avenue in the vibrant Fairmount/Art Museum neighborhood, the AF Bornot Dye Works is a historic landmark originally constructed in 1901 as the headquarters of the AF Bornot Dye Works Company.
In July 2014, MMPartners acquired the property through an off-market transaction, leveraging federal and state historic tax credits, low-interest secondary financing from PIDC, and a senior loan from Susquehanna Bank. Following an extensive renovation, construction was completed in June 2016.
Today, the AF Bornot is a stunning 17-unit mixed-use loft building featuring 13,500 square feet of commercial space and 18 private indoor parking spaces. The building’s retail spaces are anchored by prominent tenants, including Univest Bank, Anytime Fitness, Thirsty Dice Café, Yoga Habit, and Fresh Direct.
This redevelopment earned the 2018 Preservation Alliance Achievement Award, showcasing MMPartners’ commitment to preserving Philadelphia’s historic architecture while contributing to its modern revitalization.
